Believers and Nonbelievers is an ongoing discussion and debate series held in the Riverside, CA area. The purpose of these interactions is to have all sides learn to understand each other and interact in a friendly manner.
The panels are small, typically two believers and two nonbelievers. This is not the typical debate format of long multipoint intros with long multipoint rebuttals. We want to get to the heart of the subjects by having the sides interact all along the way. Introductory statements are no more than five minutes, with challenges and discussion naturally developing. After discussion a lively hour-long audience Q&A fills any gaps in the subject.
Further encouraging friendly interaction, each session is followed by a restaurant gathering open to all. (See MeetUp and Facebook Event posts for specific dates, time and places.)
These are public events held for no charge. Seating is limited (from 55 to 100 depending on site) so RSVP is encouraged, believers via Facebook and nonbelievers via one of the MeetUp Groups (links above), to balance the attendance.
Panelists are not paid and by participating agree to be recorded. The Discussion and Q&A will be posted on YouTube and eventually as a podcast.
Room sponsorship is provided by the Inland Empire Atheists and Agnostics MeetUp group, a member of the United Coalition of Reason.
